The early romance book publisher and mid 1980s saw an explosion of activity romance book publisher and change in romance publishing. For the first time, Harlequin had direct competition for the North American market. As a result of this competition, there was a great deal of change romance book publisher and innovation in the field. Whereas previously, very few North American writers were published, the new publishing homes specifically recruited North American authors. As a result of the intense competition romance book publisher and the new romance book publisher and innovative work being done, romance grew as a genre, breaking out of some of the conventions which had previously constrained it. In this work, Kay Mussell romance book publisher and Johanna Tunon collect essays by contemporary North American romance authors who have come to prominence, directly or indirectly, as a result of the shake-up of the field which started in the early 1980s. In their essays on their own work, each of the writers in this volume describes her own take on the romance novel today romance book publisher and how she has adapted the form to accommodate her own voice romance book publisher and concerns. Like any popular medium, comic books in the 20th century were marked by trends.
